Does science get the crisis?

Within the largest "social experiment" since the Second World War, the Corona pandemic, the notorious ivory tower of science became a beacon of public reason for many. Politics and society turned their gaze to the judgments of experts, scientists, and facts produced under crisis conditions.

Is the division of labour between science and politics under scrutiny? How does crisis management succeed scientifically? What dangers are posed by pseudo-science, "fake news" and attention-seeking? Does science get the crisis?
