ATTENTION: CHANGE OF LOCATION - will take place at DAI

Frans de Waal

Dogs, cats, monkeys, elephants, dolphins and whales have feelings. Animals are no less emotional than humans. In fact, it would be presumptuous to single out human emotions as unique.

Frans de Waal, the world's leading researcher in this field, vividly describes how animals-especially apes-feel, suffer, rejoice, grieve, are social, angry, and sociable. He shows the many similarities between animals and humans, not only emotional ones, and explains what we should learn from animals.

Frans de Waal is one of the world's best-known primatologists, professor of psychobiology at Emory University, and director of the Yerkes National Primate Research Center in Atlanta. He has become known for numerous popular science publications and books such as Are We Smart Enough To Know How Smart Animals Are? (2016) and was named to Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people.
