Harald Lesch

For the 11th International Science Festival - Geist Heidelberg we welcome the well-known astrophysicist, philosopher and science presenter Harald Lesch for two unique events.

Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch will convey the pressing questions of our time in a humorous and comprehensible way in his lecture on Friday evening:
When multi-billionaires flee from the world, quite enraptured, like little boys, talk about the blue planet and dream of mass tourism to space, then something is wrong. Everyone is buying from Amazon and making Jeff Bezos richer and richer, Tesla and Elon Musk want to go to Mars - one of the driest places in the solar system - and to Brandenburg - one of the driest regions in Germany. Contrary to this, billions are missing to protect all people with vaccines against a pandemic.
This raises the question: What kind of times are we living in? Is it possible that 'everything is a question of time'?

Venue: Assembly hall of the New University

As part of the International Science Festival - Geist Heidelberg

After his lecture on Friday, you can experience Harald Lesch together with the Merlin Ensemble Vienna at the concert "The Four Seasons in Climate Change" on the following evening (Sat. 6.11.).
Lecture and concert can be booked individually or as part of a Combitickets bookable.
Please note the different price models.
