Turing Award

John Hopcroft

We live in the age of information. The digital transformation in science, business and society touches all aspects of our lives and will occupy us for decades to come. Information - a revolutionary resource?

What do huge amounts of data about us do to us - and society? How should we learn to handle information in the future? How do the machines learn? And how can we make better use of science to improve the world around us and actively shape the future?

Prof. Dr. John E. Hopcroft, winner of the ACM A.M. Turing Award, will speak at the DAI as part of his participation in the Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF). The HLF is an international networking meeting, where every year 200 highly gifted young scientists in mathematics and computer science meet the best in their field.
