George Ellis

Many physicists claim that we live in an unchanging, four-dimensional block universe that does not evolve and in which past, present and future coexist. According to this theory, the passage of time is an illusion.
George Ellis shows that this theory is based on a series of false assumptions and that time does pass. Only in this way the assertion of NASA that the universe is 13.7 billion years old makes sense. Ellis' theory defines the time direction as an unambiguous and directed connection between past and future. Just as we experience time in everyday life.

George F. R. Ellis is a cosmologist and professor of applied mathematics. He is considered one of the world's leading cosmologists. In addition to his more than 200 scientific publications on cosmology and relativity, he is the author, with Stephen Hawking, of the standard work The Large Scale Structure of Space Time. He is an active Quaker and anti-apartheid activist.
