On two days Navid Kermani will be a guest at the DAI for the festival finale of Geist Heidelberg. Tonight he will read old and new texts from his literary oeuvre, while the following day(Sat, Dec. 17, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.) will focus on reports, readings and moderated discussions.
Navid Kermani, born in 1967 in Siegen, lives as a freelance writer in Cologne. He is a habilitated Orientalist and a member of the German Academy for Language and Poetry. For his novels, essays, reportages and monographs, Kermani has received the Kleist Prize, the Hölderlin Prize, the Joseph Breitbach Prize and the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade, among others. His books have been translated into numerous languages.
Kermani is considered one of the most important voices in our society. His themes revolve around borderline experiences of people of different national and religious origins.
