Peter Sloterdijk
Peter Sloterdijk in conversation with Manfred Osten(Goethe und das Glück, 2017) on a diagnosis of the times in German politics.
Peter Sloterdijk intertwines the form of an "intellectual comedy" with the lucid time diagnostics of the social tragedy of that leaden time of failures lasting until autumn 2021, for which in the meantime every turn of the times comes too late. What is meant here is the "Merkel III era" of "declining political libido and increasing civic confusion," which Sloterdijk has recorded in a reflexive and highly sensitive contemporaneity. It is the never-ending lethargocratic state in which the governed and governed put each other to sleep. A state that Sloterdijk takes a fascinatingly polythematic and wide-angled look at.
Prof. Dr. Peter Sloterdijk, born in 1947, is a philosopher, cultural scientist and publicist who has sparked numerous debates in Germany with his articles and books. He taught philosophy and aesthetics at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe until 2017.
