Ranga Yogeshwar

Virtual assistants in everyday life, algorithms that detect cancer, chatbots that write essays - developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) are now proceeding at incredible speed. AI applications are currently still in their infancy, but they are encroaching ever more deeply into all areas of life. Science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar sees this as an epochal, evolutionary leap. At the same time, against the backdrop of climate change, dwindling biodiversity, increasing resource consumption and consumption-driven behavior, the need for a rethink toward greater sustainability is becoming apparent. In his lecture, Yogeshwar poses the question of new priorities and values for our future world.

A physics graduate, science journalist and author, Ranga Yogeshwar has developed and hosted programs such as Quarks & Co (WDR) and Wissen vor acht (ARD). He has received more than 60 awards, including the Grimme Prize and the German Television Award.
